Jason Lurie

Counsel
Real Estate, Leasing

Jason is a real estate transactional attorney whose primary focus is commercial leasing, purchase and sale transactions, entity formation and secured financing matters. He began his real estate legal career as in-house counsel for Reynolds & Brown, a real estate development and management company. There he handled leasing for the company’s diverse portfolio of tenants spanning every major asset class, acquisitions and dispositions (including 1031 exchanges), financings, entity formation, corporate governance and most other aspects of the real estate life cycle for the company’s affiliated entities.

In 2016 Jason began practice as a sole practitioner, continuing to represent clients in a broad array of transactional real estate matters with a particular emphasis on acquisitions, dispositions, and commercial leasing. Jason represented purchasers of various product types, including office, retail and industrial, and is experienced in handling all aspects of the acquisition process, including negotiation of purchase agreements, conducting due diligence and title review, entity formation and closings. Jason’s commercial leasing practice was equally diverse and ranged from small space leases to large full building leases and ground leases.

In 2018 Jason joined WeWork, where he was responsible for negotiating the business and legal terms of the company’s large Class A office leases in major West Coast, Colorado and Texas markets. The role required Jason to work with internal stakeholders to ensure that all leases incorporated terms that enabled WeWork’s co-working office model. After departing WeWork in 2019, Jason returned to the practice of law with Stice & Berrien, where he has worked with many of his former clients.

Jason graduated from UC Davis with a degree in political science and received his law degree from the University of San Francisco.
